The bachelor thesis Slovak student's association in Prague Detvan at the turn of the 20th century focuses on development of activities and changes in the opinions of members of Detvan in the period from its establishment in 1882 up to the first years of the 20th century. The task is to give a view on the functioning of Detvan especially during the first decade of the existence of the associaton. The first part is concerned with description of activities and relationships with other associations, Czech public and Hungarian government. The sphere of interest is also a literary production of members which resulted in the creation of their own opinions independent from the representatives of the national movement in Slovakia. In the centre of attention is also a culmination of this process in redaction of the magazine Hlas in which were involved some members of Detvan. The thesis is based on the study of archival fund deposited in the Archives of Charles University and memoirs of the members.
